SmartSlydr is compatible with sliding door or window sizes with a horizontal sliding panel that has a width up to 50 inches. A two, three, or four panel door or window can work with SmartSlydr - please check your door's compatibility on product page.
If you can move the sliding door or window with one hand, that is a good sign that SmartSlydr will work for you. SmartSlydr will also come with quick cleaning and lubrication kit for your convenience. Most of the time heavy doors & windows need just a bit of cleaning and lubrication to make them work smoothly. If you are interested in numbers, SmartSlydr can pull the heaviest door with 18 lbs of drag force. For reference doors with clean tracks with decent lubrication need 5-10 lbs of force.
You can easily detach the SmartSlydr from the door/window using the included pull cord for manual operation or emergency exit. This feature is helpful in case there is a power outage. Of course, this pull cord is only on the inside for security reasons. You can compare it with the garagedoor opener, which also has an emergency pull cord that can only be used from the inside of the garage.
Yes, the wireless SmartSlydr tag can either be configured as a "OneButton" remote for people or a "PetPass" for pets from mobile app. The "PetPass" goes on your Dog's collar and provides automatic opening. The "OneButton" remote works just like a remote keychain, it can be attached to a walker or wheelchair for easy access. Works up to 20 feet away from SmartSlydr.
Currently, SmartSlydr supports max. 4 "OneButton/PetPass" to be configured with it. With the Mobile app, you can set tags to either work in OneButton remote mode or PetPass mode.
No, you can set the door opening width based on your Pet’s size in PetPass app settings. When the SmartSlydr opens via PetPass, it will only open the width that you have chosen in the app. You can also change the opening size at any time using the app. This helps as your pet grows larger over time and may need a wider opening.
Yes, PetPass has a “Send Request mode” if you want to get a smartphone notification when the pet is ready to go outside or come in. The smartphone app has options to allow or disallow opening when a pet waits near the door.
The door will be closed automatically after configured time as per PetPass settings in the app.
With the Schedule option, SmartSlydr can open or close the door/window at the set time. This can be very useful to refresh your home every day in the early morning and also while you are asleep.
In normal mode, SmartSlydr moves the window/door about 45 mm/sec. The total time to open the window/door depends on the size of the amount of opening you have selected (1%-100%).
With the smartphone app or voice commands, you can open the door or window to any width between 1% to 100% (in increments of 1% so you can fine-tune it to your needs). For e.g. with voice command, you can say "Set the door to 20%".
Yes, it works with most types of blinds as long as there is a 3" space between the door frame and the blinds. There are extender brackets available in the market if needed.

In the case of a 4-panel patio doorway, you have two options: The first option is to use two SmartSlydr devices, installing one on each of the center sliding doors. This allows you to automate the two middle doors, and control them separately. The second option is to use one SmartSlydr. Lock one side using a security lock, or simply leave it as a manual open/close door. Then use SmartSlydr on the second door / moving panel.
No hub or extra device is needed. As long as you have decent 2.4Ghz WiFi network coverage and a Smartphone mobile app, SmartSlydr is capable of connecting to your home wifi network.

SmartSlydr attaches via two brackets that require a screwdriver. The corner Cap sticks to the moving door/window panel that attaches to the SmartSlydr. If you seek for help, any handyman can do this.
